Bank Messages Look Normal Until Something Feels Off

Got a message that looked like it was from the bank, nothing crazy, just saying there’s an issue and asking to confirm something. Didn’t seem urgent at first, but also didn’t look fake enough to ignore right away. That’s where it gets tricky, because you don’t want to mess up if it’s real. For people who’ve dealt with stuff like this, what are the small signs that it’s actually a scam before you click anything or reply?

Those messages get people exactly by looking almost normal. The little signs I pay attention to are weird wording, a link that pushes me to act inside the message, a request to verify info the bank should already have, or that subtle pressure to fix something fast before I’ve even had time to think. Stuff tied to bank fraud usually works in that gray area where nothing looks wildly fake, just slightly off. If I’m unsure, I never use the link in the text and go straight to the official app or number I already know.
